树可以是生命的溯源，可以是家庭的雏形，所以泰伦斯·马利克拍摄了《生命之树》，拿下了金棕榈。树也可以是爱情的象征，阿罗诺夫斯基拍摄了《珍爱泉源》，先于《黑天鹅》的黑白绝唱，完成了一部三重奏的爱情挽歌。去年，朋友在上海电影节采访了阿莫斯·吉泰，中间出现一段有趣对话。吉泰讲，他曾采访过诺贝尔文学奖得主索尔·贝娄，然而问他：“你的根在哪里？”然后贝娄回答说：“阿莫斯，人不是一棵树。”看完《Hello！树先生》，我一下子就冒出了这个标题和想法。人与树，到底是怎样的影响联系，互为重叠。
很显然，在影片当中，王宝强被省略了姓氏名字，只有“树”的简称。他家门口有棵树，那里发生过一起意外惨剧。在这里，树又变成了痛苦的阴影，一旦事件发生，它就生根发芽，破土而出，挥之不去。越到后面，观众则会发现，影片涉及了高度现实的拆迁用地题材，树先生发了神经，死活不肯离去，他与那个即将消失毁灭的村庄捆绑在一起。他的一生，好像跟那片土地无法分离，合为了一体。一直到最后，人终于消失了，树也不见了，电影只剩下了背景物，那是太阳新城，是崭新的住宅小区，是许多人的最终宿命。
正如贾樟柯概括《Hello！树先生》是“一卓二杰三强”，在技术上，电影做工精细，堪称到目前为止最有质感的一部竞赛片，没什么毛病可说。片中有好几个段落的场面调度令人惊奇，想远方摇曳的火光，像婚礼的迷糊幻觉，像去投靠朋友后的夫妻吵架，再有是树先生陷入精神错乱，预感到村民命运的不知所去。镜头突然一片血红，众人赶往远方，配乐一起，顿时充满了古典悲剧感。要知道，树先生从一开始就视力不好，我几乎把他认定为一个瞎子(同时也对应了谭卓的聋哑)。瞎子成了明灯引路人，这是怎样的荒谬。当然，色调的突然改变会叫人想起戈达尔的《轻蔑》，那里是三种滤镜颜色，充满了新浪潮的锐气。而在《Hello！树先生》里，它却带有了高度升华的意味，冥冥中注定会有那么一回事。
同样的，在结婚前着火一段，两人厮打的长镜头也让人看得很是紧张。虽然好多人觉得在整个叙事和风格的转变上，影片好像有些跳跃，但面对这一段，我把它视为王宝强的内心转变。他的人生一下子坍塌了，面对所有人，无论是弟弟还是媳妇，他都处于绝对的下风，就此完败。也是从这里开始，婚礼之后，电影陷入了一种诡异的狂乱，再然后就是神灵附体，荒诞夹杂着惊悚。直到结尾，《Hello！树先生》变成了真假难辨，在超现实和魔幻现实的交界处游荡。
应该说，《Hello！树先生》里令人惊喜的存在不是来自“春晚”的谭卓，也不是客串演出的超女何洁，它只能是绝对的男一号——王宝强。从《盲井》里的小屁孩到广为流传的傻根再到现在的树先生。当年还被妓女一把推倒，现在就直接被女上位了，“个人待遇”确实有很大提高。王宝强所饰演的村民是一个很特别的形象，正如在很多人的记忆当中，小时候必然会有一个疯子，必然会有一个不怎么受欢迎的亲戚，而在我的老家那边，同样也有树先生的存在。年纪老大不小，单身，不成器，不时挨打，耍酒疯，说话浮夸……大家都习惯了他的存在，也习惯了他的一身毛病。
《Hello！树先生》的成功和无奈其实都在一个地方：当它成功塑造了一个少见的人物形象时，电影突然又进入了语焉不详的抽象表述。有人把它看做一种末世洪荒的预言，有人把他解读为现实主义的又一次胜利，也有人直接认为就是魔幻现实主义，比如树上的人，死去又出来的亡魂。与一般偏门的文艺片不同，在大半数时间里，影片都有一种无奈的幽默，逗人发笑。像树先生和小梅的短信聊天，像树先生的认错下跪，像那句人格不稳定。如果暗自去理解，这其实包含了心酸，更是一个兀自坚持的脆弱小人物，然而，他们却往往被我们所忽视。
